Credentials
Dr. Gibson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida and North Carolina; and Licensed Independent Social Work - Clinical Practice in the state of South Carolina, and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Alabama. Dr. Gibson is also a Non-Denominational licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel. Dr. Gibson also has social work experience with the Air Force Family Advocacy Program, Children & Family Services; as the Senior Director for the Women & Children's Owen's House Homeless Shelter; as a Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence Counselor/Advocate with Crisis Services of North Alabama; as an Adjutant Social Work Professor with Oakwood University and completed her field experience with Wellstone Behavioral Health in Huntsville, Alabama. Dr. Gibson is a national speaker on the subject matter of mental health, sexual assault, trauma, domestic violence and sex trafficking. Dr. Gibson is also a proud veteran of the United States Army. 

Education

Dr. Gibson received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology & Social Science from Troy University, a Master’s of Divinity Degree from Regent University, and a Master of Social Work Degree with a concentration in Mental Health from Walden University. Dr. Gibson received a Doctorate Degree in Ministry with Biblical Counseling from Reach For The World School of Ministry. 

Specialties

Dr. Gibson has worked with young girls and women ages 16 and up. She specializes in working with women struggling with grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, school issues and more. She has experience in the areas of mood disorders, personality disorders, adjustment disorders, women’s issues, faith development, trauma and self-esteem improvement.

Overcomer

Dr. Gibson is not only a survivor, but an overcomer of childhood sexual abuse (to include a form of familial sex trafficking); sexual assault, suicidal ideology and domestic violence.
